St. Pascal School

As we all welcome the New Year, the 3rd graders of St. Pascal School are back in action and ready to continue preparing for 4th grade!

The always enthusiastic 3rd grade students are working towards becoming “Multiplication Munchers” by mastering their multiplication facts through 12. With hard work and a little bit of PacMan fun, these students are on their way to becoming true mathematicians.

Before Christmas break, the 3rd graders learned the different roles needed for literature circles and starting this week they will put their knowledge to work. They will meet in small groups discussing important quotes and vocabulary words, main ideas, and connections they can make between stories and their own lives. Look out Oprah, these “book clubs” are top notch!

After reading Flat Stanley, a literature circle story about a boy who is as flat as paper and can travel around the world in an envelope, our class is also learning how to write friendly letters and sending them around the world! We will correspond with friends within the U.S., Mexico and even France. Stop by Room 205 during Open House on January 30th to check out who we hear from.

Wishing a blessed 2011 to all of the families of St. Pascal. Thank you for your love and support.
